Spirit Airlines Is Launching New Nonstop Flights From Fort Lauderdale to the Cayman Islands
You land, step off the plane, and in minutes you’re feeling it — the warmth, the light, the unmistakable calm that comes with arriving in Grand Cayman. And now, getting there is even easier.
This December, Spirit Airlines is bringing back its nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman, part of a strategic effort to expand airlift from Florida to the Cayman Islands. Starting Dec. 4, 2025, flights will operate three times a week — Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays — connecting South Florida with one of the most sought-after destinations in the region.
It’s a meaningful addition — not just for convenience, but for the broader growth of Cayman tourism. The return of the route follows high-level meetings between Spirit Airlines and the Cayman Islands Airports Authority, facilitated during the CAPA Airline Leader Summit held earlier this year at the Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, Caribbean Journal has learned.
