JetBlue Airways is set to launch a significant expansion to the Caribbean this summer, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

In July, JetBlue will launch new routes to destinations including Antigua, Puerto Rico, Cartagena, Haiti, Puerto Plata, Saint Lucia and St Thomas, all out of Newark Liberty International Airport.

Jamaica has launched a new program aimed at helping travelers explore the island in a new, pandemic-safe way: by bike. 

The new Discover Jamaica by Bike program launched this week with a kick-off ride at Kingston’s Spanish Court Hotel that took participants through the destination’s capital.

Since the hurricanes of 2017, the number of hotel rooms in the U.S. Virgin Islands has fallen from 4,500 to 2,450, according to the USVI Hotel and Tourism Association, and travel to the territory has fallen by more than 60 percent. Lisa Hamilton, president of the association, says it is time to be optimistic.
