t’s now one of the most vaccinated countries in the world: the Turks and Caicos Islands. 

Turks and Caicos has received an Alert Level 1 rating from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in the wake of the British Overseas Territory’s having given at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to more than 65 percent of its adult population. 

The country’s strong rate, coupled with successful safety protocols, has curbed the spread of the virus in the territory, allowing what officials called “continuous safe travel” since it reopened for tourism in July 2020.

There’s a new way to get to one of the Dominican Republic’s hottest destinations.

American Airlines has kicked off its first-ever service to Samana, with new weekly service out of Charlotte.

It’s a big addition for Samana, which has largely been popular with European and Canadian tourists in recent years.

Royal Caribbean will be officially restarting its Caribbean cruise operations in July with a special cruise to The Bahamas. 

The cruise giant will relaunch July 2 with a sailing of its Freedom of the Seas ship from Miami to the Perfect Day at CocoCay private island in The Bahamas. 

By the end of August, Royal Caribbean will be cruising with 12 different ships in The Bahamas, Caribbean and around the world. 

On July 3, Royal will set sail with its new Odyssey of the Seas ship, with six and eight-night Caribbean sailings out of Fort Lauderdale.

The newest adults-only resort in the Dominican Republic has held its grand opening in Punta Cana, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The new all-inclusive Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana, the first-ever Live Aqua resort outside of Mexico, officially debuted this week. 

Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader was on hand for the grand opening of the $120 million resort complex, which includes 347 suites.
