Meet The Pirates In The Cayman Islands!

Now in its 40th year festivities will begin on Cayman Brac (3-5 November) with a bon fire, welcome party, heritage displays, a parade and fireworks. It’s three days of Cayman Brac culture, fantasy and fun.

The festivities move to Grand Cayman for the most famous of events (9-13 November), five fun filled days of music, street dances, competitions, games, traditional dishes and drinks, a Pirate Pooch Parade, a children’s fun day, teen dance, two glittering parades, sporting events for all ages, a pirate invasion and spectacular fireworks displays!

On Saturday 11th November, the 'pirates' will invade the islands attacking from the sea in Hog Sty Bay in George Town harbour. Traditionally the Governor is 'captured' and the pirates 'run amok' before being cast off again for another year.

Thousands of people line the streets to watch the spectacle and its good-natured swashbuckling fun. It's the only event of its kind in the Caribbean region and it caters to everyone in the family!

New Eco-Park to Open in St Maarten

ainforest Adventures has announced a November 2017 opening for the new St Maarten Rockland Estate eco-park.

The park will launch with two signature attractions, The Flying Dutchman — the world’s steepest zip line — and the Soualiga Sky Explorer chairlift, as well as the Emilio Wilson Museum and Emilio’s Restaurant. Additional attractions, including the Sentry Hill Zip Line and the Schooner Ride will open in early 2018.

"Quick Recovery" Planned for Tortola Pier Park

The Tortola Pier Park, the British Virgin Islands’ major cruise destination, is committing to a “quick recovery” in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The Tortola Pier Park is slated for a partial reopening of the facility on Nov. 1, according to a statement from the park.

A Major Yacht Charter Show in Tortola

Even in the wake of last month’s storms, the British Virgin Islands remains the sailing capital of the world. In a sign of its renewed strength, the BVI will play host to the important annual BVI Charter Yacht Society Boat Show in November.

The Charter Yacht Show will take place at the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina from Nov. 7-10.

“The Best Way to Help the Caribbean Is to Visit the Caribbean”

ST GEORGE’S — As the Caribbean recovers from the impacts of Irma and Maria, Caribbean tourism leaders are urging travelers to return to the region — and soon.

Caribbean Tourism Organization Secretary General Hugh Riley made that call in his feature address at the CTO’s State of the Industry Conference in Grenada on Wednesday.

“Let us reaffirm our commitment to use the power of the Caribbean brand to convince discerning visitors that the way to enhance their own lives, is to take full advantage of the uniquely enjoyable vacation experiences this region has to offer, knowing full well that the best way to help the Caribbean is to visit the Caribbean,” Riley said in his address to assembled dignitaries, media, tourism executives and stakeholders.
