The legendary British Colonial Nassau resort has officially reopened its doors following a dramatic transformation project. 

The hotel, which will celebrate its 100th birthday next year, had been closed since 2020 and has since undergone a sweeping renovation. 

It’s a significant moment for the hotel and for downtown Nassau, which has been experiencing a years-long rebirth as new hotels like the nearby Margaritaville Beach Resort and experiences like the Graycliff Heritage Village have given the area a new look and energy.

Montego Bay, Jamaica has a major new adults-only, all-inclusive resort: Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters, which held its grand opening this week. 

The property, which is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection portfolio, began welcoming guests in the middle of last month. 

It’s the most significant new resort in Jamaica for parent Blue Diamond since the company opened its Royalton Negril resort back in 2017.

The highly-anticipated new Six Senses resort in Grenada will be opening its doors next spring, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

Six Senses La Sagesse, the first-ever Caribbean resort for the sought-after, wellness-focused luxury brand, will debut on the island’s La Sagesse Beach in May 2024, the property confirmed. 

The boutique-style resort will have 56 “private pool” suites joined by 15 villas — with no building higher than a palm tree, as Six Senses puts it.

As the largest of the three main U.S. Virgin Islands, it feels like St. Croix could easily be overrun with sun-seekers, or anyone looking for an effortless tropical vacation in the United States, no passport required. Despite being conveniently accessible from the U.S. mainland, though, this island seems to fly under the radar.
